Your guide to Quepos and Manuel Antonio in Costa Rica

In the Costa Rican province of Punetarenas you will find the friendly and laid-back town of Quepos. Quepos is considered one of the best destinations for sport fishing in the world and is also a magnet for surfers. Via a 5 minute bus or car ride, or 7 km, you encounter the beautiful and lush Manuel Antonio national park, or Parque Nacional. Quepos is the official gateway to this famous park of Costa Rica. Hence the two places, Quepos and Manual Antonio, almost always are spoken of in the same context.

From within Quepos and all along the way into Manuel Antonio you will find a seemingly endless array of hotels and resorts. Each hotel has a modest entry gate or path from the main road, but when you pass inside you are welcomed by the most inviting scenery looking out onto the Manuel Antonio beaches from overhead and every luxury to treat yourself to.

The spectacular beaches of Parque Nacional Manuel Antonio present some of the country's most breathtaking ocean views.

A silvery white sand beach, with an expansive coral reef, backed by a rain forest, the four beaches of Manuel Antonio offer travelers beach, surf and natural beauty.

You can scuba dive, fish, surf, hike, turtle-watch or simply laze around and take in the atmosphere.

The park is open 7 AM until 4 PM every day except Monday. Visit early, because it is a very popular park and can get very crowded.

In Quepos there numerous bars and restaurants and the city has a vivid nightlife. There is so much to do here after a day at the beach.
